SKF Global Trainee Programme South Africa

The SKF Global Trainee Program is an 18 months opportunity for you as a new graduate to gain hands on experience in the SKF business. This program targets talented Master's degree graduates within the mechanical engineering field with a proven entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.

The Program will start on 11 September 2017 and includes three rotations through different areas of SKF with at least one opportunity abroad. The rotations are selected based on business needs and trainee preferences in dialogue with the program talent manager. It will give you a broad experience from various SKF business areas and the opportunity to start building a strong network within SKF globally.

As a trainee, you will have your base in the line organisation, work closely with SKF Business Consulting team and will be given responsibility within local business projects. Through hands on training sessions throughout the program, you will also have the opportunity to develop core professional competencies, leadership and self-management skills required for success. You will gain a holistic view of the various dimensions of SKF. To give you an understanding what it takes to be a globally oriented leader you will be assigned a mentor who has the business experience to support your growth.

Introduction (in Sweden)

Internship in production factory

Rotation 1
Five months placement in home country (South Africa)
Local project managed together with SKF Business Consulting

Rotation 2
Five months placement at an SKF site abroad
Local advanced project managed together with SKF Business Consulting

Rotation 3
Five months placement at a SKF site abroad or at home depending on project
Local complex project managed together with Business Consulting
NB. Each rotation is decided based upon business needs and trainee preferences in dialogue with the talent manager

End of program - Graduation and return to SKF South Africa

Requirements


Master's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university
Proven entrepreneurial and innovative mindset or/and experience
International and cross culture experiences
Proficiency in English and preferably one more international language
Prerequisites:
Completed your Masters studies before commencement of the training program
Able to start latest 28 August 2017
Must be available for interviews and assessments up to end July 2017
Must have a valid passport
Have no restriction to obtain visas and work permits in the applicable countries
