DPV Test results

The DPV piston seal utilizes the same high performance X-ECOPUR PS material as the MPV piston seal. FEA and cylinder testing validation methods were again used to verify the performance characteristics of the DPV piston seal.

As seen in the test results for the MPV piston seal, the DPV piston seal also performs best in terms of leakage. Combining a high performance material and an optimized MPV piston seal geometry results in very low leakage rates.

Friction force

The lower friction force of the DPV piston seal together with the lower leakage rate underlines the good lubrication management of the SKF DPV piston seal.

Extrusion length

As can be seen in the graph, no extrusion length measurement was possible for DPV piston seal. So the DPV piston seal is perfectly suitable for heavy duty applications.

The graph shows static extrusion test results for X-ECOPUR PS. It shows, that even at extrusion gap values up to 0,70 mm and temperatures up to 100 °C, the extrusion length for X-ECOPUR PS is on a moderate level. Comparing typical hydraulic cylinder extrusion gap parameters and temperatures, the extrusion resistance for X-ECOPUR PS is on an outstanding level.

Comparing X-ECOPUR PS to competitor products, the graph shows, that SKF X-ECOPUR PS material has a significantly higher extrusion performance over the whole temperature range and extrusion gap area. Increasing the static extrusion length results in higher friction and reduced seal lifetime.
