Business ethics

Our continued leadership is testimony to the fact that for more than one hundred years SKF products and people have been trusted by the global engineering industry.

Of course this trust is built on issues like quality, knowledge and dependability but equally it rests on the honesty and integrity with which our people conduct business. This is part of who we are as a company, and is reflected in our values: empowerment, high ethics, openness and teamwork.

The SKF Code of Conduct defines our ethical requirements in terms of responsibilities towards customers, distributors, suppliers, employees, society and shareholders.

Our business ethics are summarized in three points:
  • We foster an ethical business culture and perform our duties with care, honesty and integrity;
  • All our decisions and activities are ethically sound and we act responsibly and professionally;
  • We advocate free and fair competition and we treat our business partners and competitors fairly and with respect.
We continuously train our employees in our business ethics requirements. The most recent global training business ethics modules include the United Nations Global Compact – ‘the fight against corruption’ and an internally developed antitrust training module.
