Environmental performance monitoring and reporting
The reporting of greenhouse gas emissions is done according to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting (GHG) protocol published by the World Business Council on Sustainable Development and the World Resource Institute.
The reporting scope covers all SKF's manufacturing sites, technical and engineering centres and logistics locations. Sales units are included when they are at the same site as manufacturing or logistics. Separate sales offices are excluded due to their minor environmental impact. Joint ventures are included where SKF has management control.
Data verification is performed at each level before submitting to external auditors for review, as part of the verification of SKF's Annual Report. SKF Group Management is also updated regularly on all units' environmental performances.

Did you know that...?
as part of our overall responsible sourcing approach, all major suppliers to SKF are required to achieve (or have a credible plan to achieve) ISO 140001 certification? Since 2007, energy intensive suppliers have also been required to report on energy use carbon emissions and their management of this issue.
