Section F - Design considerations
Page 174 - Table 4
Explanation:
A housing tolerance of J6 provides a transition fit.
Correct:
J65)    In most cases, can be displaced

Page 203
Explanation:
The unit for the taper is the slope, not degree.
Correct:
where
Δk = the permissible deviation of the slope of the taper __
Vk = the permissible range of dispersion of the slope of the taper __

Page 214

Explanation:
The internal clearance reduction should be calculated using the bearing mean diameter.
Correct:
Δrtemp = α dm ΔT
dm = bearing mean diameter [mm]
     = 0,5 (d + D)
Section G - Lubrication
Page 251 - Table 4
Explanation:
Three symbols for the grease characteristics must be changed.
Correct:
LGGB2 – Rust inhibiting properties  o  (not +)
LGLT2 – Rust inhibiting properties  o  (not +)
LGHP2 – Severe vibration  o  (not +)
Section 1 - Deep groove ball bearings
Page 318 - Permissible speeds
Explanation:
The permissible speed for grease lubricated bearings with a ring centred cage should be lower.
Correct:
SKF recommends oil lubrication for bearings with a ring centred cage (designation suffix MA or MB). When these bearings are grease lubricated (→Lubrication, page 239) the speed factor is limited to A ≤ 250 000 mm/min.
Section 3 - Angular contact ball bearings
Page 516
Explanation:
The basic load ratings, the fatigue load limit and the speed ratings for bearing 7221 BECBM are too low.
Correct:

Page 518

Explanation:
The basic load ratings, the fatigue load limit and the speed ratings for bearings 7322 BECBM and 7322 BCBP are too low.
Correct:
240   50  240   245   7,8   3 600   3 600  *7322 BECBM
240   50  240   245   7,8   3 600   3 600  *7322 BECBP
Section 5 - Cylindrical roller bearings

Explanation:
NUH 2248 bearings have an outer diameter of 440 mm.
Correct:
240    440    ...    NUH 2248 ECMH
          440    ...    NUH 2248 ECMH/PEX
Section 6 - Needle roller bearings

Section 7 - Tapered roller bearings
Page 813, table 5
Explanation:
Some formulae are wrong because indices are mixed up.

Correct:

Load cases 1a and 1b, axial load FaA

Load case 2a, axial loads FaA and FaB

Load case 2b, condition Ka

Section 8 - Spherical roller bearings
Page 885
Explanation:
Diagram is only valid for up to a maximum relation of Fa/Fr.
Correct:
The diagram is valid for bearings in light to normal load applications (P ≤ 0,1 C) on a horizontal shaft and a load ratio Fa/Fr ≤ e.
Section 13 - Spherical roller thrust bearings

Page 1080
Explanation:
The last sentence under Misalignment could be more clear.
Correct:
When designing bearing arrangements with rotating housing washer in combination with misalignment or when the shaft wobbles in relation to the housing, contact the SKF application engineering service.

Page 1081
Explanation:
The title for table 1 needs an extension.
Correct:
Table 1
Permissible angular misalignment for rotating shafts

Page 1086
Explanation:
Under Axial clearance, bearings with designation suffix VU029 should be mentioned.
Correct:
... For these applications, bearings with a modified shaft washer (designation suffix VU029) should be used. Small axial clearance enables simple and cost-effective bearing arrangements e. g. for ...

Page 1089
Explanation:
In the designation system, add VU029 under Group 4.6.
Correct:
VU029    Shaft washer modified for applications with small
