Level I static motor testing/introduction to DC motor testing

Course description

Expanding upon the concepts learned in the introduction course, this Level I course will provide an in-depth look at the technical theory and concepts associated with electrical insulation testing. Each static test method will be discussed in detail, allowing the student to analyze results from complex fault modes. The operation of various offline testers as well as the complementing software will be covered in detail. Discuss various methods to reduce costly downtime, perform advanced troubleshooting, and motor quality control through the integration of static testing. "Hands on" testing will round off the course as the needs of the student dictate. By the end of this course, the student will have an in-depth working knowledge of the static motor testing methods, be able to collect quality data and analyze complex motor failure modes.
