SKF launched New range of SKF Nautilus bearings at EWEA 2012
SKF was one of the exhibitors and speaking parts at the annual EWEA conference, that took place in Copenhagen 16-19 April. This year SKF took the opportunity to launch an extended range of SKF Nautilus bearings at the event. The conference with its additional trade show is the major meeting point in Europe for the wind industry. The SKF Nautilus bearings provide designers the freedom to develop a wide variety of turbines and a possibility to customize their solution. With increased customization, service intervals can be prolonged and reliability enhanced, something that the market demands.
Customers and journalists were invited to attend the launch that took place on Monday afternoon at SKF's booth. Many were gathered to watch and listen as Kent Viitanen, Director SI Renewable Energy uncovered the SKF Nautilus model and talked about the market needs and the benefits of the new product. Andreas Urban, Business Development Engineer and project manager for the extended range explained the new features of SKF Nautilus and how the new solution has been developed in close cooperation with customers.
In fact, some customers have already started working with the new SKF Nautilus.
"The response has been very positive, says Kent Viitanen. The market is demanding bigger and more demanding turbines and the new SKF Nautilus is fulfilling the demands."
SKF has a large product and service portfolio in the wind industry and can offer products and services that serve the whole life cycle.
"The need for energy will continue to grow. I believe the wind market has a bright future, since wind is the most competitive renewable alternative today," says Kent Viitanen.
