SKF’s India Distribution Centre all set to serve its customers’ better

SKF, the leading worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ball & roller bearings and rotating equipment performance products, today announced the launch of its new centralized distribution centre at Chakan, Pune. Spread over 64000 square feet, this India Distribution Centre (IDC) will significantly improve SKF’s distribution and logistics footprint in India.
This centre is strategically located in the industrial belt of Maharashtra and in the vicinity of key automobile manufacturers, it is also well connected with the factories to ensure better availability of stocks and to serve the customers at the shortest possible time.
“India is an increasingly important market for SKF and in order to further improve the logistics structure and serve its customers better, the company has invested in this world-class centre. The centre combines the latest logistics infrastructure with SKF best practices in its logistics operations worldwide," says Christer Cedervall, Director -Logistics & Demand Chain, AB SKF. “It will allow us to reduce delivery lead times and provide a wider range of products to our customers and distributors.”
