Robust and reliable rail lubrication systems
Freight lines are heavy loaded and used by long trains with many wagons. They require much more lubricant than other lines. Further, it is desirable to run a couple of lubrication cycles during the passage of one train. The wayside systems need to be larger in scale but also very reactive in terms of getting the lubricant quickly to the gauge faces.
Therefore, SKF developed a range of robust and reliable systems, which can store up to 360 kg of lubricant. There are two types of systems: one for applying a grease to the gauge faces (GF) and another for applying a friction modifier to the top of rail (TOR).
