CV-joints, driveshafts and boot kits

SKF components for transmission, drive shafts and constant velocity joints embody world-class technology to reduce overall friction and maintain smooth operation.  The product line covers a range of applications that transmits the power from the engine to the wheel end, such as transmission, driveshafts and constant velocity joints.

Additionally, the SKF kit concept provides complete repair solutions for various applications – all in one convenient box.
CV-Joint kit

30 years of manufacturing experience in CV-Joints
Getting stranded at the side of the road is a driver's worst nightmare.

Excessive noise and vibration could be due to the fitting of worn or inferior quality CV-Joints, resulting in a reduced service life and even sudden failure. There are no such worries with SKF CV-Joint kits, designed and manufactured to precise OE standards.
Kit content:

  • CV-Joint
  • Boot and clamps
  • Additional components such as circlips, assembled dust covers, washers and spacers
  • Wheel nut or wheel bolt for ensuring car safety
  • Grease bags
  • Fitting instructions
Assembled dust cover

The wheel end area is constantly affected by water and dirt. This highly polluted environment could decrease the lifespan of the wheel bearing. Some car applications have a dust cover on the CV-Joint to protect the wheel bearing from water and dirt and therefore ensure its longer lifespan.
SKF do not supply dust covers loose in the box but already assembled on the CV-Joints.

Benefits for the mechanics:

  • reduced repair time
  • avoid installation errors
Phosphated CV-Joint
The CV-Joint has a very exposed position, constantly affected by water and dirt which could lead to rust and corrosion on the surface of the CV-Joints.
Corroded and rusty CV-Joints will result in poor fitment of the boot and could cause foreign particles to enter the boot – thus also the CV-Joint. A corroded CV-Joint could also lead to a damaged ABS-ring.

Most of SKF CV-Joints are phosphatized. Phosphatizing is a process of local zinc-treatment to avoid rust. The treatment results in a dark-grey colour of the CV-Joint and ensures a longer lifespan of the product, even in the most polluted environment.
