Bearing solution for rotary drills
Rotary drills consist of an armature shaft (electric motor) connected, through gears, to an output spindle and a chuck.
Single row deep groove ball bearings are used to support the armature and output shafts. They can be fitted with metal shields or light contacting rubber seals (dependant upon dust exclusion properties required). Pressed steel or polymer cages are used to meet the design requirements. Grease is selected to give good performance at temperatures in the range -30/+130 °C. Internal radial clearance will depend on the fitting tolerances required.
