About the speaker:

Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Pucher was born in Austria and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Technical University in Graz. After his studies he was reponsible for the development and start-up procedures of power supply and control-systems for high–temperature kilns for sintering tungsten in Reutte/Tirol. In 1988 he moved to the position of Maintenance Manager in a cement plant and since 1998 he is the Maintenance Manager for mechanical and electrical equipment in the Gmunden cement plant and in the nearby raw material quarries in Gmunden. Challenges like the optimization of grinding and burning processes, the introduction of a new system for process-control as well as a new electrical power supply system and furthermore implementation of modern measurement equipment are part of his daily business.
