Course objectives

  • Develop an advanced understanding of motor monitoring applications
  • Develop an advanced understanding of electrical motor and power quality theory and how it applies to motor monitoring
  • Create a comprehensive understanding of the problems the instrument witnesses during operation
  • "Hands on" training for familiarity with instrumentation connection and operation
  • A general explanation of the internal workings of the Explorer to help diagnose data acquisition or various motor system related phenomenon

  • Level I and II review, including basic DC analysis
  • Advanced power condition
  • Motor performance/condition
  • Energy efficiency assessment
  • Sources of harmonics and strategies to reduce them
  • Advanced transient analysis
  • Advanced waveform analysis

Software training

  • Level I and II software review
  • Advanced data collection techniques
  • Advanced waveform interpretation and analysis
  • Advanced spectrum interpretation and analysis (including demodulation)

Case studies

  • AC case studies review and "hands on" analysis
  • DC case studies review
