Shri Ganesh Foundry – SKF Chain Power Transmission and Sprockets significantly reduce downtime and costs by 40%

Shri Ganesh Foundry had been using locally produced chain power transmission and sprockets in their bucket elevator drive, which was used to transfer abrasive foundry sand. These chains and sprockets wore out frequently, resulting in regular occurrences of downtime.
This translated into high business opportunity costs for the customer.

After evaluating the bucket elevator drive, SKF recommended that SKF roller chains (PHC 20B-1X10FT) and SKF transmission sprockets (PHS 20B-1B24) be installed. During the trial installation, the performance of the SKF roller chains and sprockets far exceeded that of the existing ones, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs by 40%! The SKF roller chains and sprockets enabled the customer’s bucket elevator drive to run smoothly while transferring abrasive foundry sand.
