The electric angle grinder consists of a motor connected through a pinion gear to an output spindle where the grinding wheel is mounted. The bearing arrangement and running conditions depend on the location within the tool.

In order to cope with the increased demand and EU-legislation of reduced vibrations, SKF works with customizing balancing solutions for angle grinders. In this specific case there is no standard product range - all solution will be customized to perform as good as possible.

External tests show the effect of a customized balancing unit:

• Vibration reduction up to 70%
• Increased life length of cutting disc 50%
• Increased life length of grinding disc 100%

A customized balancing unit should be placed as close as possible to the source of imbalance and will never replace a bearing, since it doesn't carry any external load.
