SKF gains axlebox order for the new generation of Italian Pendolino SKF Group Press Release, 2006-03-01 SKF has received an order from Alstom for approximately 1500 axleboxes equipped with compact tapered roller bearing units. These bearing units incorporate SKF sensors to monitor the bearing temperature as well as speed and train positioning. These signals are used for the European ETCS train control system.
