Formerly known as AMPEP, Aerospace Division - Clevedon, is situated in Clevedon, North Somerset, England. AMPEP was established in 1963, and has been a subsidiary of Sarma, an SKF company, since 1988. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of high technology self-lubricating plain bearings for aerospace and industrial applications. AMPEP bearings are used extensively in fixed wing aircraft and helicopter airframe and flight control systems. In general industry, AMPEP self-lubricating bearings are used in a wide range of applications particularly on advanced mass transit systems, high performance cars, fighting vehicles, marine equipment, valves and power generation equipment.
