SKF South East Asia & Pacific Pte Ltd was inaugurated on 7 February 1973 operating out of suite and a shop in the Marco Polo Hotel, Singapore with a staff of 15 people. In 1974 the company moved to Jurong and two year's later Singapore became SKF's regional hub with the opening of an area office responsible for operations in Asia Pacific.
Over the next 15 years a number of expansions eventually saw the company operating out of three locations in Singapore.
In August 2000, we moved to a purpose-built state-of-the-art warehouse and office building close to Changi Airport. The facility serves 22 countries and holds about 19,000 items. Annual turnover in Singapore is 4% of the group net sales. SKF Vehicle Parts has its own office, warehouse and kit assembly facility under the same roof.
In recognition of our quality-oriented systems and procedure, SKF Vehicle Parts and Domestic Sales were awarded ISO 9002 in 1994. SKF South East Asia & Pacific Pte Ltd in 1996 received ISO 14001 certification. Our staff of 135 employees in Singapore includes a team of experienced Application and Service Engineers capable of providing assistance in areas such as machine condition monitoring, application engineering and design, trouble shooting, maintenance training and support.
