Simplex bulkhead seals

Simplex bulkheas seal
Simplex Centrax bulkhead seal

The Simplex Centrax bulkhead seal is used exclusively on ships for sealing rotating shafts against bulkheads to avoid flooding related compartments (for instance the engine room or shaft tunnel) in the event of an accident.
Radial and axial movements of the shaft are easily absorbed by the Simplex Centrax bulkhead seal.
Due to the good self-lubricating properties of the carbon sealing rings, which are located directly on the shaft itself, no additional lubrication is needed.
The Simplex Centrax bulkhead seal is therefore practically maintenance-free.

Simplex Centrax S bulkhead seal

The Simplex Centrax S bulkhead seal is based on the Simplex Centrax design.
In order to provide additional compensation for large radial displacements of the shaft, the Simplex Centrax S consists of an inside and outside casing.
The inside ring is inserted into an outside housing ring.
Radial shaft movements, such as shocks for instance, are easily absorbed by the Simplex Centrax S bulkhead seal.
Due to the good self-lubricating properties of the sealing rings, no additional lubrication is needed. The Simplex Centrax S bulkhead seal is therefore practically maintenance-free.

Simplex bulkhead gas-tight seal

The Simplex bulkhead gas-tight seal design is based on the Simplex forward lip ring seal.
Two sealing rings face each other, thereby acting as a barrier chamber which is filled with oil. This chamber is connected to a 15/30 l oil tank and permanent lubrication and cooling of the oil is ensured by means of a circulator.
A special solution for high shaft speeds is delivered by a back-to-back arrangement of the sealing rings in combination with applicative grease. The optimum grease level is ensured through the use of a grease dosing unit.
The Simplex bulkhead gas-tight seal can also be supplied as a completely axially split version.
This seal is designed for in-situ overhaul in accordance with certified and approved Simplex repair standards. Service and spare parts are available through our worldwide network.

An optional (split) adapter flange is available for all Simplex bulkhead seals. This means that the recess, the pitch circle and the outer diameters can be adapted to match the required dimensions, allowing shaft flanges, couplings, bearings etc. to be connected through the bulkhead.
