Turbochargers image
Ball bearings equipped in turbo chargers have many advantages over standard turbo. The ball bearings typically have higher top speeds which allows the pump to develop more pressure head. Also the frictional resistance is lower which reduces turbo-lag, improving drivability. Finally ball bearings require less lubrication and cooling than a standard turbo. This gives a secondary improvement to the overall engine efficiency.
