Pulp & Paper Practices Newsletter

Pulp and Paper Practices issue 23 3D cover

Published three times a year, SKF’s Pulp & Paper Practices technical newsletter is designed for engineers and maintenance staff working in the pulp, paper and converting industries. Written by specialists in their fields, the newsletter is full of practical information and helpful advice, with each issue covering different aspects of machine maintenance and reliability.

In this edition, SKF industry specialist Philippe Gachet looks at a range of issues facing paper mills, including the risk of bearing inner rings becoming twisted during mounting, and the problems this can cause down the line. He also returns to the subject of inner ring heat treatment for drying cylinders, previously discussed in issue 7, and considers the relative pros and cons of rebuilding and replacing bearing housings.
