SKF Energy Efficient (E2) bearings
Reduced friction for reduced energy use
To meet the ever-increasing demand to reduce friction and energy consumption, SKF has developed the SKF Energy Efficient (E2) performance class of rolling bearings. Bearings within this performance class are characterized by a frictional moment in the bearing that is at least 30% lower when compared to a same-sized standard SKF bearing.
SKF Energy Efficient (E2) deep groove ball bearings
Optimized to reduce frictional losses in the bearing and provide longer service life, shielded SKF Energy Efficient deep groove ball bearings can last twice as long as comparably sized shielded standard SKF bearings in light-to-normal load applications. This means that the number of bearings needed to run an application over its lifetime can be halved. In instances where an application is run-to-failure, these E2 bearings can conceivably outlast other components in the application.
SKF Energy Efficient (E2) sealed deep groove ball bearings
Designed for grease lubricated, light-to-medium load applications, SKF Energy Efficient sealed deep groove ball bearings also enables longer bearing service life and is designed to improve application efficiency by reducing bearing power losses. Features include new low modulus NBR material, optimized internal geometry, high speed polymer cage, low friction seal for harsh environments, long life grease for high speed applications, optimized grease filling.
SKF Energy Efficient (E2) double row angular contact ball bearings
Optimized to reduce frictional losses in the bearing, shielded SKF Energy Efficient double row angular contact ball bearings can last as long as comparably sized shielded basic design bearings. Depending on the operating conditions, the bearing can run anywhere from 5 to 30 °C cooler when compared to an SKF basic design bearing. This will increase the service life of the grease, with the potential to also prolong bearing service life.
SKF Energy Efficient (E2) Y-bearings
SKF E2 Y-bearings are available in the YAR 2, YET 2 and YSP 2 series in both metric and inch sizes. The designations for SKF Energy Efficient Y-bearings follow the basic SKF designation system. However, the prefix “E2” has been added to avoid confusion. SKF E2 bearings are supplied in a new box marked SKF Energy Efficient bearing. SKF E2 double row angular contact ball bearings are available in the 32 A and 33 A series.
