Location of rod ends

The inner rings of rod ends can be axially located by a shaft shoulder, a nut or a retaining ring.
Rod ends mounted on threaded rods or in extension tubes should be secured by an extra nut on the rod or the external thread of the rod end shank. The nut should be securely tightened against the support surface on the rod end housing or on the tube (fig. 1).
