Risk Based Maintenance

A quantitative, financially-based analysis technique, Risk Based Maintenance (RBM) establishes the relative worth of various maintenance tasks and serves as a continuous improvement tool. RBM defines opportunities for incremental improvement by eliminating low-value tasks and introducing tasks that address high commercial risk areas. Risk-based maintenance evaluates the current commercial risk and analyzes the costs and benefits of steps to mitigate failures.
