We use audio-visuals, lectures, extensive hands-on training and discussion opportunities during this course. Participants will be taught how to perform all the facets of a complete and accurate Root Cause Analysis using cause-mapping techniques.

Course objectives

The objectives of this course is to teach the participant how to identify, analyze and reduce mechanisms that lead to premature failures in pumps, mechanical seals and rolling element bearings. Participants will be taught the requisite skills and knowledge necessary to correctly select, accurately analyze and obtain resolution to undesirable events. Also included is methodology for analyzing failed and damaged mechanical seals and bearings. Students will learn to uncover the root causes of the identified component damage and failures that result reduced service life.

This course is intended for maintenance personnel, reliability engineers, rotating equipment engineers/specialists and management personnel requiring knowledge of identifying the causes of centrifugal pump and mechanical seal failures. Managers and technicians at industrial plants and facilities responsible for rolling element bearing performance and reliability along with rotating equipment engineers, reliability engineers, millwrights, mechanics and maintenance supervisors.
