Level I Static Motor Testing
WI262Expanding the introductory course, Level I will provide an in-depth look at the technical theory and concepts of electrical insulation testing. Each static test method will be discussed, allowing students to analyze results from complex fault modes. The operation of various SKF offline electric motor testers, and their software will be covered in detail. The course discusses methods to reduce costly downtime, perform advanced troubleshooting, and motor quality control through the integration of static testing. Hands-on testing will be included as student needs dictate.
Students will have an in-depth working knowledge of static motor testing methods, be able to collect quality data and analyze complex motor failure modes. By the end of this course, you will:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the static testers and any software interfaces that are applicable to the product
- Understand motor testing applications
- Develop an in-depth understanding of electrical insulation theory as it pertains to high voltage motor testing
- Become familiar with the hands on operation of the instrumentation and its associated hardware
