Previous achievements
In our own manufacturing, since 2006, we increased our business (net sales) by 40% and at the same time reduced absolute energy demand energy. But we need to do more.
But we need to do more...
For goods transportation SKF said that we would reduce the CO2 intensity (CO2 emissions per tonne-kilometre) by 30% between 2012 and 2016. This was achieved by 2016 when the annual emissions were reduced by 31%.
Now we focus on the next phase...
On raw materials and purchased goods, SKF said that all major suppliers that are energy intensive shall be certified to ISO 50001 energy management (as is SKF). By the end of 2016, 84% are certified and the rest are working towards certification.
In 2017, we increased the scope of suppliers and continue to support energy management in the supply chain...
With customer solutions we reported aggregated avoided emissions (Scope 4) 2012-2016. From 2017, SKF will not provide such aggregated data. In the objectives for 2025, we have selected four key areas of our business that stick out as highly relevant to reduce emissions - renewable energy, electric vehicles, recycling industry and bearing remanufacturing...
