Felt rolls
Improve reliability in the dryer and press sections

In the dryer section, felt rolls contend with higher temperatures which are challenging for machine components. There is higher axial thermal expansion than in the wet section, of the rolls and cylinders. Felt rolls in the press section encounter a lot of process water. Components need to be protected.
Generally, wider, faster machines with higher steam temperatures place the greatest demands on bearings, seals, housings and lubricants.
For older machines the felt rolls may not have been designed for the high loads caused by the tension required for synthetic fabrics. This high load can effect the performance of bearings.
