Ball and roller screw range
SKF ball and rollers screws are optimized for reciprocating loads in heavy duty conditions when high reliability is required.

Design is adjusted to match exactly the application needs. The lead (travel per turn) can be selected from a wide range, typically from 4mm to 40mm, to give the best configuration of speed /torque to drive the unit and get the best resulting pumping action. Diameters are carefully calculated to give optimized capacity ratings that will maximize uptime and give the longest possible life while withstanding high loads within very compact dimensions.
Lots of units could be driven directly without the need of gearbox. Systems can be operated in any orientation (vertical/horizontal).

  • Designed with engineered materials (standard or stainless steels) and corresponding heat treatments to minimize wear, allowing serviceability in many different conditions (temperature, pressure, contamination)
  • Nuts can be customized to fit in restricted space and interface with customer parts when compactness is a challenge like in downhole applications.
  • Bearing configuration is designed at the same time to provide the highest level of robustness
  • Lubrication (grease or oil) and seals/wipers options for the screws are included in the design optimization.

SKF high performance electromechanical actuators include ball and roller screws and are one of the best electric actuation alternative to hydraulic solutions. They easily allow variations of speed, strokes, or loading conditions allowing for flexibility in the pumping cycle.
