Swing arm

The Swing Arm is a pivoting frame which connects the rear wheel to the main motorcycle frame via the shock absorbers.
It is subjected to sudden rotations of small degree whenever the vehicle accelerates, decelerates, banks or rides a bump. Swing arm system is however prone to environmental ingress which rusts the metal spacer, needs frequent bush replacement & causes stiff movement of the swing arm when the shocks are loaded.

The manufacturing & assembly is also tricky as it calls to ensure good concentricity between mating parts . Also there is a problem of axial floating which causes some wear on the parts with bushing solutions which is commonly used in most of motorcycles of older generation.
