SKF automotive aftermarket suspension range extension for Korean vehicles

2015 January 15, 12:00 Europe

Gothenburg, 30 January, 2015: SKF announced today, the extension of its suspension range for Korean vehicles that now includes robust Macpherson suspension bearings manufactured at various SKF production sites all over the world.

The extended range covers Korean car models by Hyundai, Kia and Daewoo and includes models such as the Ceed, Forte, Soul, i30, Sonata, K5, i40, Grandeur, K7, Santa Fe and Sorento. The new suspension kits will gradually be launched over the coming months and the full range should be available by July, 2015.

Olivier Vigier, Global product Manager, SKF Automotive Aftermarket says, “This range extension comes after SKF announced its agreement with the Korean manufacturer, Hyundai Motors, as OE supplier of robust Macpherson suspension bearing units in early 2014. I am very pleased to see that our expanding partnerships in the OE for Asian and especially Korean vehicles are being mirrored in the automotive aftermarket so quickly and that our customers can benefit from SKF’s strong OE position and high performance products.”

Vehicle suspension components are regularly exposed to external pollution and forces in different driving conditions and damage can occur even with normal wear and tear. According to manufacturer guidelines, the suspension bearing unit and top mounts should be replaced at the same time every 100,000 km along with the shock absorbers.

The SKF aftermarket offers the following solutions available in either twin or single packs:
  • Macpherson suspension bearing kits (VKD)
  • Top mount with integrated Macpherson suspension bearing kit (VKDC)
  • Top mount with loose Macpherson suspension bearing kits (VKDA)
