Nitrile (NBR) may be the most common elastomeric seal material for use in applications requiring oil resistance, durability and set resistance.  Nitrile materials are compatible with most hydraulic media, including petroleum oils, water glycols, water/oil emulsions and many synthetics.  A-8502 is a multipurpose grade 80 shore A category NBR.  It is suited to use in lip and compression seal applications at temperatures from –37°C to +129°C (–35°F to +265°F).  It has excellent set fluid resistance. NBR is not recommended for use where exposed to sunlight or ozone.
