HO CHI MINH CITY –Donate a smile and make people’s life better.
On December 12th 2013, in accordance with the Community Care Plan and Christmas holidays at our door, SKF Vietnam organized a visit to the Lam Son Elementary School in Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City, one of the least developed areas in the city where many low income families reside.
Thanks to the school Principal Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai and his team for their coordination, SKF Vietnam had the chance to donate 100 gift packs to the children coming from the most problematic families in the school. The gift packs consist of basic products such as rice, noodles, milk and some sweets; a little gesture that meant a lot for these children and their families.
The ceremony took place in the school’s courtyard at 7:00 am before classes starts, so all the children, their families, the school management and their teachers could participate. After a warm welcome from the children’s joy and cheer, Mr. Roberto Ferrero, Managing Director of SKF Vietnam, took the honor to kick off the ceremony with a short speech.
“It is an overwhelming sensation to be welcomed by the smiles of a thousand children. At the same time, it’s one of the most beautiful moments in my life” – Roberto said.
The event included a song presentation from the children and distribution of gifts lasted close to an hour. Afterwards the children went on to their daily classes diligently with their gifts and a bright smile on their faces.
The principal, Mr. Hai, and his team from Lam Son Elementary school expressed their gratitude and appreciation by inviting SKF Vietnam’s representative to a gathering, sincerely thanking everyone. The school and SKF Vietnam also brought forward a discussion on future opportunities to support some of the children who are experiencing family issues or health problems.
SKF Vietnam will continue to collaborate with Lam Son Elementary School in future to create a positive impact on the local community.
